They take a look at a one toned bland wall. They grab their paint and they revitalize it with color and life. This is the mission of the Stick Up Kids graffiti artists.
An artist as well, Max was diagnosed with anaplastic large cell lymphoma and needed a splashes of color and revitalization.
He told Make-A-Wish® volunteers he wished to meet and paint with a member of Stick Up Kids. The wish team stepped into action to give this 17 year-old time to enjoy his creative passion.
“It’s always been my dream,” Max says.
Stick Up Kids graffiti artist Dave Ross, aka “Persue,” meets Max and spends hours discussing art with him. The two artists work alongside each other painting a mural. They combine their creative minds spraying blues, purples, oranges and greens and turning swirling lines into a masterpiece.
Witnesses of this awesome event couldn’t tell which one is the professional artist, as Max’s natural talent is evident. But of course, it’s not Max is no beginner. He already has work displayed at a local studio.
His wish experience gives his art career a head start.
A local businessman spots the mural and commissions Max to paint a permanent mural on the wall of a city building. This young aspiring artist promises to share the power of a wish® by donating a piece of his artwork to a fundraiser for Make-A-Wish® Alaska & Washington, his local chapter.
